Are you ready for a Theme Contest?

It's almost time for the Design Team to get our hands on the June kit! We are poised and ready to stalk our mail delivery person so that we can get down to creating. We have the pictures, we have the adhesive... and now we need a theme! A theme for June. Every month we each create a layout that fits a certain theme for the month and this month, we are leaving it up to you to pick a fun and unique theme for us!

And what will the winner receive? Well, they will receive this amazing prize pack, that's what!

Inside, you will find some Doodlebug alphas, American Crafts double-sided patterned paper, Heidi Swapp embellishments, Prima flowers, assorted vintage buttons, Scenic Route chipboard, Heidi Grace glitter flowers, raffle tickets, a cupcake chipboard album and American Crafts ribbon. Um, wow! Just for picking a theme! You have until 9:00AM CST, Monday, May 25th to leave a suggestion here.

I forgot to include the picture of the June Sneak Peek to give you inspiration!! Here it is. :)

Our design team will choose the theme that we think fits us the best and the winner will be announced, with all the other winners, on Friday, May 29th.

Wow!! I'm first!!! LOL

Being that June is celebrating Father's, I think the theme of "Respect" would be cool. Make a layout or project about someone you respect, what does respect mean to you and so on.

Fun!

I looked at June's sneak peek. I thought the colors were summery and bright and fun.

So I came up with 'Summer Spritzer'.

rajah1116 May 21, 2009 at 7:43 AM

What about a nature theme? The layout could reflect something from nature, be it the title or the pics!

Michelle May 21, 2009 at 8:55 AM

With June having the longest day, I was thinking Summer Solstice. I love the night long days of summer, being outside enjoying it all.

connie May 21, 2009 at 9:08 AM

With summer almost here how about "Spring into Summer".

Jen Gall May 21, 2009 at 9:12 AM

The first thing that came to mind for me is "Hero". There's so many ways to interpret - we have some soldier's wives among us or maybe you have a son or daughter/brother or sister/someone you love in the military, we have our fathers and some of us have husbands who are fathers. Flag Day is June 14, Father's Day is June 21. It's a great month to celebrate our heroes, whoever they may be.

Fresh!!

When I look at the preview it makes me think of fresh and new scrappy supplies. This may be one of my favorite kits yet!

Laura C May 21, 2009 at 10:21 AM

June in Bloom!!!!!

Jennifer May 21, 2009 at 10:37 AM

The colors for June's kit reminded me of the good ole fashioned summertime... sprinkler jumping, popsicle eating, balloon fights, bbq's, firefly catching, fishing! So I think "Good 'Ole Summertime" theme.

Jenn in Vancouver

Great Kit (as usual), definitely summer but to add a spin, how about "Summer Firsts". This could go in so many directions.

Unknown May 21, 2009 at 11:03 AM

My suggestion is "HOT,HOT,HOT" because June is typically a steamy month here in south Louisiana and it can also be applied to many different occasions, activities, and people.

Jenny May 21, 2009 at 11:20 AM

wow, such great ideas already. you girlies are on the ball today!

Anonymous May 21, 2009 at 11:32 AM

How about "June Jubilee"...those colors remind me of fun times. Sharon

How about Summer Picnic or Bar-B-Que. That is what I look forward to the most about summer and from what I see in the papers I think it would tie nicely. Thanks for the chance!

Marla May 21, 2009 at 12:18 PM

I say "Summer Fun" since it is the beginning of summer.

Shana May 21, 2009 at 2:08 PM

I'll give it a go! When I look at the papers all I can think of is Picnic at the Park.

Z May 21, 2009 at 2:23 PM

well I love all the bright colors ---how about colors of life--rainbows, cotton candy, snow cones, birthdays,----balloons!!

I know it is scrambled but I love the colors of life and all that it entails and for each person it would be different but it would be bright and chaotic and wonderful just as life is.--:)

Tffny May 21, 2009 at 3:32 PM

My pick would be Sunshine. Thats when it finnaly shows up here in the Northwest.

Sara May 21, 2009 at 5:19 PM

How about those 'family days out' to the park and zoo that we love during the summer?

kyopuce May 21, 2009 at 5:47 PM

ohh yesss !! I think June it's Summer ! The colour of the kit is perfect for this theme !
Let's go Scrapping and having fun "in Summer" !
Kiss

sarah_n May 21, 2009 at 5:50 PM

Hope I can jump in with two since I really can't decide LOL! I'd say either "Refreshing" or "Smooth Sailing" =)

Anonymous May 21, 2009 at 6:28 PM

June is the beginning of Summer. Where we get our swimming legs into shape and bring out the grill. I think a wonderful theme would be "What does Summer Mean To You?" What smell, event, tradition reminds you of Summer. I believe this would be a wonderful theme for this kit!

Sorry ladies! I keep changing my mind. It sounds good until I come back to look...lol.

Seriously, I keep thingking about the song "Handlebars" by Flobots. When I think about learning to ride a bike and summer, it brings to mind all kinds of other fond childhood memories. Maybe base the theme on this lyric from the song, "Look at me, look at me
hands in the air like it's good to be
ALIVE"

Unknown May 21, 2009 at 9:45 PM

I agree with all of your great ideas.....but I am thinking of "summer-ize" things that on to kick off summer and all the fun that it brings :)

Brook May 21, 2009 at 9:58 PM

I really like some of these ideas! Please keep 'em coming!!! :)

Tezzan May 22, 2009 at 1:48 AM

How about "Birthday fun"? My son will celebrate his first birthday in June.

Unknown May 22, 2009 at 7:42 AM

How about Cherries Jubilee

Aphra Bolyer May 22, 2009 at 8:11 AM

LOVE that cherry paper...it made me think of "A Taste of Summer."

Heather Landry May 22, 2009 at 10:16 AM

The cherry paper made me think of my grandma's cooking. The vintage look makes me think of old cookbooks. So how about scrapping a recipe or your kitchen? I know my kitchen is the center of activity... especially around the 4th of July while I'm trying to get everything ready for our picnic!

Holly May 22, 2009 at 3:47 PM

I would say Favorite Childhood Memory (memories). The sneak peak just takes me back.

Janice Guazzo May 22, 2009 at 4:11 PM

June is Iced Tea Month so maybe we can scrap about summer beverages and treats...our favorites, our kids favorites, etc.

ClaraD May 22, 2009 at 7:17 PM

Okay, for some reason my original post isn't showing up, so I'll try again LOL

I think the theme should be "HAPPY" ... it's the first thing that came to mind when I saw the bright papers, and it would work for a variety of different pictures :)

pattyb May 23, 2009 at 10:19 AM

June Blooms is my suggestion.

Katherine May 23, 2009 at 10:56 AM

Love that cherry paper! As a child, I used to go the the Cherry Festival in Michigan in the summer, so how about a Festival/Fair theme?

Elisha Pharr May 23, 2009 at 5:52 PM

When I saw it, I immediately thought "Bloom and Grow!"

BethW May 24, 2009 at 12:23 AM

I can't find the right words-but what I'm thinking about is everyone taking time to play and be a child again for a little while. Let's go outside and blow bubbles, play on the slip and side-does this make any sense?

Sara May 24, 2009 at 4:48 PM

Thought of another - PLAYTIME ! It's so bright and fun, thought it might fit!

Michelle May 24, 2009 at 6:36 PM

"Summertime...and the living is easy"
Those colors remind me of that beautiful song by Gershwin

or you could shorten it to "living"

Michelle May 24, 2009 at 6:38 PM

oooh....wait, I like, "hey teachers, leave those kids alone" - an ode to getting out of school

-Agnes- May 25, 2009 at 6:04 PM

How about "Enjoy the park" (garden, balcony... etc.)

weze May 26, 2009 at 7:09 AM

I would want to say the theme would be watch it grow....thinking gardens and spring planting which is what I am doing right now.

rajah1116 May 26, 2009 at 9:20 AM

What about Summer Sweets?

Patty Williams May 28, 2009 at 8:06 AM

Love all those colors!

I like the theme of "togetherness" ..father/child/family/outdoors/

playing together and staying together!

Laci J May 28, 2009 at 4:42 PM

My theme ideas:
Dr. Suess
Lovers Delight (something to do with weddings in June)
Flip Flops in the Sun
Who cares
My turn
Half Year Resolutions
All about HIM (Father's Day)
Ok, I'm stopping before waste my day giving away all the good suggestions. Good Luck! ~Laci
