Birthday Layouts: What's Your Process?

Every year about this time, everything hits our house at once! Birthdays, end of summer, back to school, sports, fall....you get what I'm saying!

Today just happens to be my daughter's birthday and I know when things settle down I'm going to want to make her a special page...and have a gazillion approaches running through my mind:

  • A List of her top ten at ten
  • A retrospective of photos from past birthdays to current
  • Blowing out candles & opening presents
  • A time line of things we did on her special day
How do you approach birthday layouts? Do you plan ahead and take photos with that plan in mind? Do you just scrap from whatever you captured? Are you caught up to current birthdays?

My youngest will be 4 in Dec. Nothing scrapped!!!! :o My others are caught up for the most part. I don't have an approach for taking photos. Tho, now you have me thinking!!!

I have to say I use sketches to figure out a page, then I choose the pictures and the papers. I tend to focus on showcasing the party and the list of friends who attended. Mainly because my girls are so little and they won't remember otherwise.

I'm a chronological scrapbooker and I'm a year behind on all photos. I have a designated birthday album in which I have the LOs from the parties and the cards the kids received. As my boys are 2 and 4, the album is not very full. I will probably separate them into individual albums later on.
