Trying Something New...

I have never, ever scrapped a layout using the two-page 8 1/2 x 11 format until this month's kit from Mosh Posh! Isn't it funny how we get in scrapbooking routines and stick with them? Do you scrap in a particular size ALL the time or perhaps you always journal using your computer or only handwriting...I challenge you to try something different just for the sake of doing it! Do I like the new format of the above layout? Honestly, I'm not so sure...but I am glad that I branched out and at least tried it!

What are you going to try?

Are You Ready For A Challenge?

November is one of those months that just makes me thankful. I get excited planning a Thanksgiving meal for my family and it just makes me more mindful of all of the wonderful things that I have in my life.

My challenge to you is to create a Thank You card. Any size. Any style. You just do what you do best. Leave a comment here with a link to your card so I can check it out. You have until Friday (November 20) at 11:00AM CST to link your card. (I will announce the winner that same afternoon)

Our one lucky winner will win this collection of journaling spots. Journaling is, to me, the most important part of my layouts. The story behind the photo is the whole reason that I scrapbook. With these journaling spots, you will be able to tell your story!

Tomorrow we will be having another blog hop, so I hope that you will stop by tomorrow! Happy Wednesday!

June Challenge!

Last month for our anniversary Blog Party I hosted an Ad Inspiration Challenge. I had so much fun seeing all of the ads that everyone found and I just knew that there would be lots of inspiration to be found! Our winner was Tffny who found this cool vintage Delta ad. I loved the blocks of color and the rounded edges. I bet that you can come up with a great interpretation!

This is the layout that I created from the ad using the June Mosh Posh kit.

And then I just repeated the idea in a quick card. I really love these colors. I am thinking of using it as a palette for Maddux's room. :)

Are you up for the challenge? All you need to do is create a layout or card from the ad.

One lucky winner will win this prize! It includes: American Crafts:Fabric Thickers, Basic Grey: Bling it crystals, Sasafras Lass: Layered Blossoms, KI Memories: Juicy Summer Brads and Jenni Bowlin: Mini Birthday Bingo Cards (6 of them!). All new products. Yum!

So, create a layout or a card using the ad inspiration and you will be entered into the random drawing for the prize! You have until Monday, June 29th to link your creation to this post. You must use a Mosh Posh kit for your creation, but it doesn't have to be the June kit. It can be any MP kit. I can't wait to see what you create!!!!

Git-R-Done Challenge Update

I'm back! Just because Estee's Blog Party is over doesn't mean the fun is done. I've been working on my own challenge. Did anyone else make any head way on theirs? Besides my December Daily git-r-done challenge, I challenged myself to do some event scrapbooking too. Event scrapbooking is so dang hard for me. I don't know about you, but as much as I try I never seem to get enough good pictures on the big event days like birthdays and holidays. So, I'm pleased with my progress on some of this the past week.

The December Daily is complete. I'm thrilled. That month just flies by. And this way we'll always remember those little things that made this December so special and unique to our family. How did YOU do on your challenge? Would love to see more pictures and posts in our Member Gallery of what you are getting done.

Here's a peek or two into mine...

Blog Party - Card Challenge!

What do you do with all of the beautiful scraps of paper that you have at the end of a project? Do you make your own cards? I love to create something on a smaller scale and there is the added bonus that someone is going to be so excited to get something in the mail!

Lisa Kremer created this beautiful card for us. I love how she used the ink and the strip of ribbon!

Our lovely Jenny Dziekan created this sweet card. I love the pinked edges and the three dimensional heart. SO cute!

Lisa Houpt created this card. Don't you just love the pom pom trimming? Such fun, bright colors!

This one is mine. All of those Christmas gifts required lots and lots of thank you cards!

Here is your challenge: Create a card! You have until Sunday, February 22nd to create a card using your Mosh Posh kit. Anyone who completes this challenge will receive an extra 5 chances for the Embellishment Prize Pack!! Just leave a link here to your completed cards. I can't wait to see what you create!

Git-R-Done Challenge

Hey you guys. It's Jenny stopping by the Blog Party to ask you to join me in a little something. I'm the Queen of starting something I'm really loving and feeling inspired by and not getting it done. Or, worse yet, planning something amazing while laying awake at 3 am and not even starting it. I'd like you to come along with me and finish something YOU want to get done.

Like some of you, I was inspired by Ali Edward's December Daily she posted on her blog in December 2008. I was so loving it, that this past November, I built the guts of one, with the hopes of completing it this past December. Guess what? It's still not done. By the time the 8 Christmas trees were packed up at my house the Daily sat unfinished. So sad, such a great snippet of our life was sitting undone. This past Friday I dragged it to a crop with friends...
and almost finished it. I'm going to journal it and add a couple of missing embellies before the end of the month.

What are YOU going to finish? If you'd like to join me please post here your intentions and I look forward to following your progress in our Members' Gallery. You guys can hold me to it as I post updates here and detail shots on my personal blog. I'd like to have a friend or two on this journey. Who's with me?

August Challenge!! The "I Was Here" Challenge

Hello, everyone!! How is everyone doing out there? Can you believe that it is August already? School started on July 30th here, so we are already in the swing of a new school year! This month for Mosh Posh the design team chose "All About Me" as the theme and if you have checked out the gallery, you will see that everyone rocked it! It is so fun to see the layouts that directly reflect our wonderful design team. I did a layout that I have been wanting to do for a while:

I did a layout that included lots and lots of journaling about the silly things that I want to remember about my room. This was the room that I had for a year when I studied abroad. I wrote about my shoes, man, I loved those shoes, and about the pictures that are hanging on my wall. Since I can barely remember what I had for breakfast yesterday morning, I knew that I wanted to document these memories so that I will always remember.

What: Here's the challenge: Create a layout using your Mosh Posh kit that documents an, "I Was Here" moment. It can be a picture of a house that you used to live in, a car that you loved, a special place (such as the restaurant where you got engaged), or maybe a favorite vacation spot. It's really a broad topic, but the goal is the same... create a layout that documents that you were there and the memories that you have of that specific place.

When: You have until Friday, August 29th to complete this challenge, which gives you plenty of time to find the perfect picture and get the journaling just right!

Why: Because there is an awesome prize involved, of course! One winner will receive some yummy scrappy goodies! The winner will be chosen randomly, I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Please list any questions that you have here and I will answer them as soon as possible. Happy Scrapping! :)

End of the Month Challenge!!

Hello there!!! Kristen is on vacation, so you will have to wait just a little longer for the winner to be announced for the July RAK. I know, it's tough to be patient when the prize is so awesome!! In the meantime, I have a little challenge for you! I challenge you to create a layout all about a special Father in your life. Have you seen the Mosh Posh Gallery? Our theme for this month was all about Fathers, which our new DT members ROCKED OUT! Just for an example, and because I like to embarrass my husband on the Internet, here's my layout about my husband:

Here is what you need to know:

- Create as many layouts as you want, but the theme has to be about a Father.

- The layout must include the yummy products from your June Mosh Posh kit. (You can use other products, such as alphas or ink/paint, but we want to see that June kit!)

- Link your layout here in the comments section before July 1, 2008.

- I will choose one winner who will win the super cute Making Memories pink chipboard ledger alphas which will be the perfect addition to your July kit!
