Ad Inspiration Contest

What's this? Another prize? Why yes, yes it is.

As a scrapbooker, I am guilty of buying matching shirts for my girls because I just got the cutest patterned paper that is absolutely going to match and make the cutest layout ever! It's true. I admit it. I wouldn't admit that to Brad, but I'll admit it to you. :)

We can find inspiration everywhere. Including magazines!

I Googled "vintage magazine ads" and found these fun ads! The lawn mower ad has a great design. I love all of the rectangles.

This Sears ad has amazing colors. I wouldn't use the design as inspiration, but I would definitely use the color scheme!

Alright, now it's your turn! Let's see your ad inspiration! All that you have to do is find an ad that you think is inspiring. And here is how the points will work:

+1 point = link to an online ad (just copy and paste the web address when you leave a comment)
+5 points = take a picture of an ad from a newspaper, magazine or any print media and upload it to your blog so that you can inspire others
+10 points = if you upload your ad inspiration to your blog AND create a layout or card from it!

Card Scraplift Challenge!

This month I made this card for my dear friends BB and Chris who had a baby. Their little guy, Myles, is super adorable and his room is decorated in greens and blues, so this kit was perfect. My challenge to you is to scraplift my card. Easy enough, right?

One very lucky winner will win this:

A card kit for you! You will receive: 2 pieces of Bazzill cardstock, 3 double sided sheets of American Crafts patterned paper, 1 piece of brown felt, 6 Bazzill cards + matching envelopes (2 white, 2 green, 2 brown), 1 length of American Crafts ribbon, 1 package of Bazzill paper flowers, assorted American Crafts chipboard, 1 Pink Paislee Pixie Stix glitter, assorted buttons and 4 stick pins. Whew! All of it is perfectly coordinated, so you will be able to start creating right away!

Are you ready for a Theme Contest?

It's almost time for the Design Team to get our hands on the June kit! We are poised and ready to stalk our mail delivery person so that we can get down to creating. We have the pictures, we have the adhesive... and now we need a theme! A theme for June. Every month we each create a layout that fits a certain theme for the month and this month, we are leaving it up to you to pick a fun and unique theme for us!

And what will the winner receive? Well, they will receive this amazing prize pack, that's what!

Inside, you will find some Doodlebug alphas, American Crafts double-sided patterned paper, Heidi Swapp embellishments, Prima flowers, assorted vintage buttons, Scenic Route chipboard, Heidi Grace glitter flowers, raffle tickets, a cupcake chipboard album and American Crafts ribbon. Um, wow! Just for picking a theme! You have until 9:00AM CST, Monday, May 25th to leave a suggestion here.

Here are the details about the July Guest Designer Contest so you can start working on your entries:
(1) Make one layout about the men in your lives. Fathers, brothers, sons, uncles, grandfathers, even friends.
(2) Make one layout, card, altered project, etc. with any theme or subject you choose. This is your wildcard entry.

Entries can be submitted to the blog or message board between June 1st and June 18th. Winner will get the July kit at the end of June to submit 4-6 layouts or projects to the DT gallery. Stay tuned for more details and official rules.

Happy Day 3 of Mosh Posh's 4th Anniversary Blog Party! We're so excited that you have deiced to join us for these 2 weeks of inspiration, giveaways, and fun. Guest Designer Contest... extension

FYI, if you're rushing to get your entries for the June Guest Designer Contest finished you can take a sigh of relief. We decided to give everyone a few more days over the weekend to get their entries in. The contest deadline has been extended. The original post has been changed to reflect this info, but I thought I'd give you a special heads-up this morning.

Entries will be accepted from May 1st- May 18th. Any entries posted after 10pm MST on Monday, May 18th will not be accepted!

Winner will be notified on May 20th.

May Sketch

The May sketch is something new to try... if you haven't printed out a 12x8 print, now is the time to try it! It really is a stunning way to showcase a special photo. It even makes the most un-exciting shots seem epic. And this sketch is so versatile! Turn it on it's side and add another 12x12 for a two page spread.


Below, I used the sketch to scrap this photo of the first time I got to hold my daughter. The title is the number 27, the day she was born. I used some DMC floss to create a divider between the embellished side and the journaling side.


Here's the sketch alternative. I just turned it on it's side and added three more photos (2 full 4x6's and one 4x4) to the page. The photos are on the top half, and the patterned papers take up the lower half. The big photo has great negative space for adding the title.


If you don't have an 8x12 photo on hand or don't want to go that route, here's another way to use this sketch with multiple photos! Lisa Kremer used the brown cardstock to unite her photos into a single block to imitate the sketch. She also did her title on the lower third and did her journaling in strips along the bottom of the photos.

Mosh Posh Guest Designer Contest

Well, the 4th Anniversary fun starts here! A Guest DT spot is open for the month of June and we'd love to have YOU join us.

Here are the details of the contest:

1. Contestants need to submit 1 layout and one other project, card, or layout (of any size)... its basically a wildcard and should showcase the designers style and creativity. The theme needs to revolve around "Celebration"

2. Contestants do NOT have to use Mosh Posh kits to enter.

3. They should submit 2 pages/projects to Mosh Poshs Blog-
mosh-poshkits.blogspot.com no later than 10pm MST on Monday, May 18th.

4. Winner will be notified on Wednesday, May 20th.

5. Winner will receive our June kit and be our Guest Designer for June.

Let me add that only one of your 2 submissions needs to meet the theme "celebration". The other layout or project is the wildcard which can be anything you please.

To submit your entries, please post a link to them in the comments section of this blog post OR (even better) post them to our message board in the "4th anniversary celebration" forum HERE: Guest DT Contest Entries : June If you don't post to one of these two places your entry may not be seen... so make sure you do! Entries are due by midnight on May 15th.
