Our Christmas tradition is Midnight Mass. When I was still living at home, we would go every year. Now, with a 2 year old, we usually go Christmas morning, but when Sam gets older, her and I will start again. The music and Mass are just beautiful and full of tradition.
Oh my gosh I can't wait for my kit to come I love love love what I see....Our favorite tradition is spending Christmas eve with all of my husbands family...we eat....sing...and the kids unwrap their gifts from everyone. Some years Santa has flown in for a few minutes to say hi to the kids.
In Sweden where I live Santa Claus comes to visit on Christmas Eve and hands out the gifts to everybody. When I was little Christmas was just waiting, waiting until Santa arrived, it was so exciting. For quite some years now, with just "big kids" in the family we've skipped that tradition (at least the dressing up part), but this year with two little ones we will start again. I can't wait and I sure am gonna scrapbook it...
We don't really have a tradition, every year is different, we rotate where we spend it. The only thing that is always the same is on Christmas eve the kids get to open one present and it's always their Christmas pj's so in the morning they can have a picture in front of the tree with all their presents.
While my husband is out hunting, my daughters and I have a "Girls Night Out". We get in the car and drive to this neighborhood where EVERY house has really elaborate decorations. We park and get out and walk several blocks to look at everyone's displays. Then we get back in the car and head to Krispy Kreme for hot chocolate and doughnuts. Its a tradition we shared since they were little girls. Hopefully, we have a few years left as my girls are now 18 and almost 16. ):
Our Christmas tradition actually starts on Thanksgiving. We spend the day watching every version of A Christmas Carol. Then the day after we have ladie's craft day. All the girl's in the family get together to crafts for Christmas and eat all of the Thanksgiving leftovers.
wow - I just love all the sneak peeks in here!!
ooops I totally forgot to leave my Holiday tradition...well since my daughter was 12 yrs old - every year we get up at 3am on Black Friday and hit all the big sales. We love the crowds and the excitment - and somehow it just signals the first offical day of the Christmas Season.
Our Christmas tradition is having hors d'oeuvre on Christmas Eve. Everyone in the family gets to pick one or two things they would like to have and that is what we have for supper. Ever since I was a little girl I wanted popcorn as one of my picks. Almost 25 years later we still have popcorn on Christmas Eve.
Our Christmas Tradition is a big Christmas brunch with a French Toast Casserole, an Egg and Sausage Strata, and sweet homemade Cinnamon Rolls. Very Yummy after opening up Christmas gifts with extended family!
A tradition that we started a few years ago is making gingerbread houses. The kids have so much fun making them and look forward to it every year!
On the evening my immediate family exchanges gifts we have a fondue meal.....we spend the actual Christmas holiday out of town with family so we like to make our own gift exchange night special too whatever night it falls...the main dish fondue is a dried beef and cheese fondue with crusty bread, green apple slices, and veggie dippers and for dessert a chocolate fondue with pound cake and fruit dippers
One of our Christmas traditions is actually sort of a birthday tradition. My mom's birthday is Christmas Eve, and I always remember her talking about how she never had a birthday cake while growing up. So, as soon as I was out on my own, I started a tradition of making her a birthday cake every year - my famous rum cake which is her favorite. My mom will never go without a birthday cake again.
Beautiful sneak peeks. Our Christmas traditions is every year we make homemade Christmas cookies & eggnog then decorate the tree together as a family.
Our Christmas tradition is the family jam. After a delicious feast on Christmas Eve, we all grab instruments (a guitar, tambourine, kazoo, drums, triangle, whatever!) and sing Christmas carols. The kids sing at the top of their lungs and we adults get into the spirit.
I have 3 crazy active boys and one tradition we have is always to go out in the woods, and one boy carries cardboard to lay on, one caries the saw, and one carries the gloves....we trek through the woods and cut down our own tree and I get to watch them all carry it back! They are all so proud and manly even at 3 they were so happy doing this!
Now they are older and still always make time to get momma's tree!
We also have special goblets I only get out on Holidays and they feel so grown up like BIG BOYS when they get to use them....I love the holidays!

We have so many Christmas traditions that I cherish. One of my favorites is buying a Christmas ornament each year for my children based on something about them. For example, the child that plays baseball might have an ornament that incorporates that theme. They always love seeing what they'll get.
Our Christmas tradition is to decorate the "real" tree the week before Christmas. This is done while playing and singing along to "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" by Dr. Seuss. It was fun before children, and now our 4 and 2 year old join in and it is the best hearing their little voices singing along and using their creative minds to decorate the tree.
I absolutely LOVE the look of these Christmas goodies! Our family tradition is Christmas Eve service. To us it's not really Christmas until we have our Christmas Eve Candle light service. Nothing gets you in the spirit of the season more then singing Silent Night by candle light :)
My favorite memory of a Christmas tradition is attending the candlelight Christmas eve service at church. Sadly, this year we won't be able to. Since I've gotten married in the last year, this is the first year for my husband and I to come up with some new traditions for us! :)
We always open our stockings after all the other presents have been exchanged & opened. And yes, even at my age, I still get a stocking full of goodies!!!
we started a new tradition 2 years ago...on Christmas Eve we go to Target and a special Santa, who looks a lot like my dad, meets us to have his pictures taken with my daughter and her cousins. All the kids in Target think it is the coolest thing that Santa came to Target. Santa leaves through the front door handing out candy canes to kids as he leaves. What a wonderful memory!
One fun one that we started a few years ago is playing the white elephant game... I know everyone does it a little different but ours is all about the funniest, most ridiculous gifts you can find. It ALWAYS makes for a fun night! =)
Our tradition is kind of a 'small' one- On Christmas Eve we sit around our tree, drinking hot chocolate.. and we let our kids pick one gift to open =)
I met my hubby, Darrell, over 7 years ago while he was still living in Connecticut. My son and I lived in Virginia so the first Christmas that we were dating, we weren't able to be together. My son, who was 7 at the time came up with the idea that we should call Darrell and read his then favorite book "The Polar Express" over the phone. Darrell had never heard it before but loved it and it was a very special moment for the 3 of us. Since then, we've spent every Christmas together and always read the story each holiday.... Now we also have the movie to watch each year also... We've made a pact that even though my son is now 14, it will not matter how old he gets, this is something that we will do every Christmas.
My favorite Christmas tradition is waking up on Christmas morning and going checking out what is in the stockings before we open all our gifts. I can not wait to get one of these houses, they are sooo stinking cute!!!!
Every Christmas Eve. we always let the kids open their Christmas pj's. That way, they always look really cute for the pics Christmas morning.
