ACK!!! It's Monday again!!!

So, here on the Mosh Posh Blog, Mondays are all about how to get your scrapping on without too much stress or time. We like to call it "Manic Mondays". Funny, but whenever it's my turn to do the post on Monday I get stressed and I feel rushed about it... because for real, Mondays ARE manic and I usually have 50 million things on my to-do list! I rarely scrap (or blog... LOL) on Mondays because I'm just way to busy to get creative. :)

With that in mind, I came up with a little bit of inspiration for you this Monday. It's a little technique called "hunt and gather". You probably know what I'm talking about... but let me explain. When you are too busy and time is not your friend, act like a hungry multi-tasking klepto squirrel (does that make sense?). Gather your nuts all throughout the day so that at the end of the day (or week) you will be ready. Just dig through your stash of supplies, your photos, your ribbon, your notebook of sketches (you have one of those, I hope!), and grab a scrap sheet of paper to write journaling prompts.

Now, find a bare surface or empty bin/basket in your house. If you're like me, claim a section of the kitchen counter or dining room table and start gathering there. Your husband will LOVE this! If you're sitting at your computer at work, create a mental pile. The point is to think about the layout and plan it out before you begin.

For each pile of "nuts" you have one layout. Gather them slowly throughout the day or week, whenever you have time. Each pile should eventually contain everything you need for each layout. Think of it as a mini kit that you're building from your larger kits and personal stash. As you gather, be thinking of title ideas and even your journaling... add those to the pile, too! THEN, when you have the time all the silly gathering work has already been accomplished. Just grab your pile and get to work. I do this and it saves me a ton of time. :)

TIP: When your piles of "nuts" are driving you nuts, just stick them in those handy dandy gallon zip-lock baggies your Mosh Posh kits come in. Then, stick those baggies in the shipping box. BUT I don't suggest creating so many piles that you end up putting them away and forgetting about them. Try to only have two piles at a time... and start building your layout the first chance you get to scrap!

Happy gathering!!!

My current pile:

Hey! That looks a lot like the December kit! Hmmm... maybe because it IS the December kit?

this is a great idea, I really have to give this a try seeing that I have to do a layout and card each week for my DT work on a sketch blog. This might make life easier for me.. thanks. I am just loving that kit on you counter.. I just signed up for 6 months of kits yesterday and can't wait to get my first one in the mail I hope soon, that December kits looks like it has some wonderful goodies in it.

I love doing that! It makes it so much easier! I just gather the photos and when my kit arrives, I put them in the bag until I have a moment to sit down and scrap! And it always makes it easier when we get the sneak peeks, because I can have my photos ready before the kit even gets here! :)

I save all of my handy dandy Mosh Posh bags for just that purpose. Plus, when my Mosh Posh kit comes in, I pull matching embellies out of my stash and tuck them in the bag with the kit, so I can use up some of my older stuff.
